From TequilaGringo: We know what most of you are going to say without even trying this: "Flavored tequila?", "don't mess with the agave - even if it is with a jalapeno", "Is this your follow up to flavored cigarettes?" and probably much more. But you know what? Why be a purist about flavors? All you do is limit your options and maybe even come off a little snobby (or a lot snobby). The Tanteo line is a category all to themselves, and we don't think it in any way interferes with the appreciation of the 3 traditional tequila types: blanco, repo, and anejo. In fact, we would much rather pour a Tanteo over ice than mix a blanco with fruit juice.
The nose on this tequila has, as you'd expect a strong jalpeno, but there's also some agave in there. The smell is very strong, strong enough that someone just walked into the room said, "hey, smells like jalapeno in here!" We told them what it was and got a, "wow, very strong!" Although a blanco, the tequila has a pale green hue. On taste, first we'd say it's a very smooth drink. Which is good because it makes it accessible to a wider range of people. You get the spice and flavor of the jalapeno, but without the pain (nice). And in the background there's the agave of the tequila, which balances in nicely with what is cleary a jalapeno infused drink. Silky Mouthfeel. You could easily imagine sipping this, but maybe more likely doing what we did - our tasters were very pleased with the Jalapeno tequila, ice, and a lemon peel twist; it's a great new tequila drink that retains full tequila flavor with the added interest of a strong cocktail. Apparently it goes well in a margarita too in this review from everydaydrinkers.com.

About Founder Jonathan Rojewski: Tanteo Spirit Company's CEO and co-founder is on a mission to redefine the way people think about tequila. Opportunity presented itself when the Consejo Regular de Tequila (CRT), which regulates Mexican tequila production with the same fferocity that the French guard champagne, recently lifted its ban on non-agave infusions. Taking a background of success in the finance world and a love for the culinary world, countless trips to Tequila, Mx and hours and days with his creative director working on the logo and bottle design, Jonathan has put it all together to create his masterpiece.
From Tanteo: Artisanal Tanteo Jalapeño 100% Agave Tequila is an exquisite handcrafted spirit imbued with the essence of fresh jalapeños. Our traditional infusion is balanced so precisely that the luscious fruit and roasted agave flavors in the Tequila tame the sun-nourished sizzle of the peppers. As a result, Tanteo Jalapeño Tequila is lush, elegant, and incomparably delicious - with a dose of savory heat on the finish.
Whether sipped alone in a glass, or featured in a classic cocktail, Tanteo Jalapeño Tequila is always a tantalizing, unforgettable experience.
