Pale, earthy agave

From TequilaGringo:  This tequila has guns on the bottle.  We like that, and firmly believe in everyone's right to bear tequila bottles with arms on them.  And darn if it doesn't have the best cap in the business, we just love giving it a simple spin between the thumb and middle finger and watching it unwind silky smooth style.  But that's just packaging at the end of the day.  What's inside is what counts, and Revolucion delivers.  The color is an exceptionally pale yellow, particularly for a repo that spent 10 months in the barrel.  The nose is a vegetal, somewhat earthy agave. The mouthfeel is on the thin side and soft.  The taste follows suit, with an earthy agave with maybe a touch of spice.  The finish is a good length that leaves a numb feeling on the tongue.  A man's tequila.  8.8 stars.

NOM 1123   Tasted 03/02/10

From Revolucion: It is a 100% Blue Agave, distilled twice, aged in white oak barrels for 10 months and state bottled.  In 1998 Tequila REVOLUCION won a gold medal on spirits category in the "Concours Mondial de Vins", Brussels, Belgium.  The bottle is different from all others, it has two pistols etched into the back, and it has 45ml markers so that the consumption can be measured, it has a very good grip and a perfectly made drop cutter.
