Luna Sueno Blanco
From TequilaGringo: Luna Sueno's blanco offering arrived and it was apparent immediately that these guys know how to make a tequila look really tantalizing. It comes in a sleek (dare I say, beautiful?) black box. The bottle is hand blown, which gives it a very authentic feel, and hearkens back to old Mexico, we like that. We're suckers for that. Perhaps the most unique quality of Luna Sueno is the quality (we can be witty with our plays on words yes?). Most tequilas are distilled twice. We've seen a few triple distilled. This is the first cuadruple destilado we've come across. Each distillation removes impurities - two is usually enough but to strive for a fourth is to strive for absolute purity.
Extra distillations might also remove taste tho - so we went into this with much curiosity. The nose on this tequila is very nice, vegetal and floral. Easy to sniff, meaning it won't leave your eyes watery the way a typical spirit might. The taste is really quite delicious! You'll immediately notice a sweetness, honey and fruit and a little of the floral that was apparent on the nose. Nice and warm, but not hot. An easy drink. A delicious tequila, and a blanco with good complexity - something that's very very hard to achieve. We can see this going over exceptionally in your bottle service, attracting people (too many?) to your table.
