First tired Herradura Resposado at the On the Border Restaurant ... of all places.

My local franchise is actually quite edible and I visit about 3-4 times a month. I order their Herradura Bordarita which is a double size margarita, I substitute Grand Marnier for the Contreau, and get a half shot of the Herradura on the side for an extra $3. Smoking deal, thats all I drink when I'm there.

Very smooth straight up, and exhibits unique complex flavors even in a Margarita!

If your "just" venturing out from the commercial taste of bla, bla, bla, Gold Tequila's brands, Herradura Resposado should be firmly rooted in your new found vocabulary. I recently discovered it at my local Costco for $25 in Mesa, AZ. It now commands a permanent space on my wet bar, best "all around" Tequila on the planet in my book.

I'm a Tequila fan! I tasted many Tequilas, different tastes for different folks. Glad they don't all taste the same. For this Reposado Herradura, it's my favorite. It's excellent for sipping in a nice wine glass. Great flavor and smooth. Not harsh, just enough bite and taste. A sweet aroma. It's also great for margaritas etc. But almost a shame not to sip this one straight and enjoy the flavor! It tastes like it smells. Just sniffing it is a treat. So I like to sniff and sip this tequila and enjoying all of it flavors and aroma.

* Here is something I hope everyone will try with this great Herradura Reposado. Taste it with honey! This tequila reminded me of honey, so I wondered how it would taste with honey! I thought what the hell. So I tried it. Yes it is excellent. If I do, this is how I like to do it. Put a tablespoon of honey in your mouth first or just use a honey squeeze bottle(less mess)...... Then take a sip of Herradura Reposado. Now you have two flavors in your mouth starting to mix! Delicious!(2 or more parts honey and 1 or less part tequila) Now swirl it around it your mouth until the honey is melted.... then swallow. This tequila already has a sweetness to it. Not much bite or burn...but with the honey, it's even smoother going down. The nice part is you get to taste the tequila as you swirl it around in your mouth before swallowing. The honey quickly mellows and blends with the tequila. If you have a squeeze bottle for the honey, try it with you and your girl/man. Squirt the honey into each others mouth for them, or just their month. Then they can take a sip of tequila from a glass or from tequila from your mouth! A tequila honey kiss from your honey! Haha! Believe me if your partner is hot, you'll love it. If not have few drinks before doing the sharing, haha! You might not want to drink a lot of it like this. It's fun for a new twist every once in a while. Oh and I tried mixing it in a glass then drinking it. It wasn't so fun, cause you don't get to taste both as you swirl them around in your mouth. Experiment and discover the ratio you like best with the honey and tequila! Enjoy folks!

for the smoothest margarita, 2:1:1 herradura, cointreau, lime juice, served iced. heresy, but a splash of orange juice doesn't hurt.
